Bravery. Once small word can depict so many stories. This word can mean so many different things to different people. A solider defends its country in wars overseas, and does it without even blinking an eye. A single mom applies for job after job, hoping someone will hire her, so she can put food on the table for her kids. She worries, but her children will never see her waiver. A college student steps on to campus for the first time. She has moved across country, away from her family and friends, to fight for a dream.
You can show bravery in your every day life – saying hello to a stranger, helping a neighbor in need, stepping on to the treadmill for the first time, or moving on from someone who ultimately wasn’t good for you.
This season in my life has been strange, for lack of better words. Many changes have taken place; and change isn’t a bad thing. This season has been filled to the brim with it, though. From tackling my mental health head on, to finding my strength with running, and making the painfully difficult decision to move on from someone I cared deeply about, these last few months have been sprinkled with bits of bravery. Each day, you can choose to look at the shadows, or choose to look into the sun. Bring on the sunshine, people!
I believe that life gives you seasons for a reason, and I can’t wait to see what this next chapter has to tell. There are much greater things looking forward, than in the past. I’m open to the idea of new people and places, and know that the life worth living is just the next fearlessly brave step away.
